A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder after the death of a woman in Angus. Emergency services were called to a flat on Swan Street in Brechin at around 1.30am on Sunday but were too late to save the 23-year-old care home worker, who succumbed to her injuries in the property.

Social and affordable housing provider Albyn Group has appointed Highland businesswoman Lisa Buchanan as its chief executive. She replaces Calum Macaulay, who announced his decision to leave in March after more than 20 years as CEO of the Invergordon-based group. Buchanan moves from Buchanan Shaw Consulting where she was a partner specialising in advising third sector organisations and SMEs on organisational development.

Wilf Ward Family Trust, which covers Scarborough and Ryedale, has announced the appointment of its new chair of trustees. Professor Dianne Willcocks, who was appointed a trustee at the trust in December 2018, has received the key role. She takes over from Tony Denness who is to step down from his role as chair but who will continue to be a trustee until October this year.
