A London council has appointed the board for its housing company, with a former regional Barratt Homes boss as its chair. Richard Reynolds, previously managing director for London and the South East at Barratt, will head the board of Lambeth Council’s company, Homes for Lambeth (HfL). Wendy Stokes, who was formerly managing director of Ealing Council’s development company Broadway Living, has been appointed as a non-executive director along side Peter Walters, chair of Sutton Council’s ALMO, Sutton Housing Partnership. Six senior officers and one councillor at the local authority will make up the rest of the HfL board.

Cornwall Care, the largest care provider in Cornwall, has appointed Anne Thomas as its new CEO.

David Orr, former chief executive of the National Housing Federation (NHF), has joined the board of the UK’s largest housing association. Mr Orr has joined the group board of 125,000-home association Clarion-today, a month after stepping down from his position at t he NHF.

Birch Green Care Home in Skelmersdale, Lancashire has made two senior appointments to lead the next phase of its development. Vicky Sudworth has been promoted to general manager and Emma Kay becomes deputy manager to lead the 100-plus strong team.

Maria Gaurino joins as Healthcare Director, and brings over 18 years of care home management and senior consultancy experience from across the UK. She has an in-depth knowledge of the UK care home sector and recognises the importance of quality real estate. She has worked extensively in delivering strategic objectives and effective performance across all elements of care home operations across the UK including clinical excellence, human resource development and financial measures, focused on quality and effective person-centred care. Mark Langford joins as Finance Manager from Clydesdale Bank and Emma Fernandes joins as Senior Marketing Manager and will work alongside the Leadership Team.
