Lendlease’s head of residential is leaving the firm to join the board of leading housing association Clarion Group. Richard Cook will join the group executive team in February to lead ambitious development plans. He joined Lendlease in 2010 as head of delivery of the design and build contracts on the Olympic Village for London 2012. Later as head of residential, he was responsible for delivering 1,000 new homes each year of mixed tenure from open market to affordable.

Sovereign has replaced its interim finance chief after she left only one month into the job. Rita Akushie, who was appointed as interim chief financial officer in October, left the organisation last month to take up a permanent position at Cancer Research UK in the new year. She was occupying the role at Sovereign after Mark Hattersley left, joining Clarion, the UK’s largest housing association, as its finance chief. That position was itself vacated by Mark Washer in April, when he became the chief executive of Sovereign.

Royal Bournemouth Hospital’s chief executive will be stepping down after nearly 20 years. Tony Spotswood has announced he has not applied for the interim joint chief executive role, which has been created as part of the merger of the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals and Poole Hospital trusts. Mr Spotswood, who is the longest-serving CEO of a hospital trust in the UK, will leave his role at the end of the month.
