The chief operating officer of a large London association will be leaving late this year. Rachael Dennis joined Catalyst as the executive director of finance in 2014 and was appointed chief operating officer in 2017. Rachael will join Taylor Wimpey, one of the largest house builders in the UK, as managing director.

The Care Quality Commission has appointed a new chief inspector for primary and integrated care. Rosie Benneyworth, a GP and vice chair of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, will take over from current chief Steve Field in March. She will lead on CQC inspections for all primary medical services, including general practice, pharmacy and dentistry and integrated care.

A newly merged 45,000-home housing association has appointed the boss of a North East provider as its new group chief executive. Ian Wardle will join Platform Housing Group in April, moving on from Thirteen Housing Group where he has been chief executive for three years. He has worked across the social housing, local government and private property sectors.

Sunderland-based housing association Gentoo has welcomed a new chief executive at the beginning of 2019. Nigel Wilson will lead its executive team and 1,200-strong workforce.

The chair of Notting Hill Genesis has stepped down less than a year after the merger which created the 64,000-home housing association was completed. Dipesh Shah revealed in a statement he would be leaving his post exactly two years after being named Genesis chair.

Newly appointed manager Melanie Marchant has revealed big plans for The Knoll Care Home in Tuffley, Gloucester. With almost 30 years’ experience in elderly care, Melanie plans to launch a new events programme for residents and the local community on top of improving the home’s already high standards of care.

A masters graduate has joined the team at Middleton Hall Retirement Village under a national fast track scheme designed to train the future leaders of the social care sector. Greg Whalen, 22, who graduated with an MSc Management master’s degree from Durham University this summer, is on a placement at the award-winning Middleton Hall Retirement Village at Middleton St George, near Darlington, as part of the Skills for Care graduate programme.
