Beaumont Park residential nursing home in Biggleswade has a new Home Manager . Susan Sim spent 32 years with the NHS latterly asDirector of Nursing based in North West London, followed by the East of England. She then moved on the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) where her interest in care homes developed.

The National Housing Federation has nominated two new members to its board. Manchester councillor Sean Arnstee and academic Suzanne Fitzpatrick have been formally proposed by the federation to take on the positions in the autumn. This will take place after it is voted on at the federation’s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 21st September.

Inverclyde Council leader Stephen McCabe has taken up a new job as next year’s local government elections draw closer. He has been appointed part-time finance manager with a housing association based in East Renfrewshire. Mr McCabe worked in the social housing sector for more than 20 years, until leaving his post of assistant chief executive of Govan Housing Association in January 2014.

A former Highland care home manager has been cleared of misconduct allegations by a Nursing and Midwifery Council panel. John Charters was assistant manager at Grandview House in Grantown on Spey when it was alleged he failed in his care of residents at the site. Following a hearing, the panel determined that his fitness to practice had not been impaired. The panel determined that almost 30 facts in the case could not be proved. In its newly released outcome, it said the facts that could be proved did not amount to misconduct.
