A care home worker who viciously attacked his female boss has been banned from the profession. Jay Gumban had to be restrained by colleagues while assaulting the assistant manager of Kingsmills Nursing Home in Inverness. Gumban, a senior care assistant, faced charges at the Scottish Social Services Council , including claims he placed his hands around the unnamed worker’s head and throat.

A carer has been found guilty of abusing two residents at an Elgin care home. Aneta Fortuniak has been on trial at Elgin Sheriff Court, accused of assaulting Aileen Grant and Robert Scott while working at Spynie Care Home last summer.
