A social housing provider has paid tribute to a popular long-standing board member who has died after a long illness. Helena Partnerships expressed its sadness at the death of Marlene Newman, a former chair of the provider’s tenant and communities committee (TCC). Marlene, who was due to step down at Helena’s AGM this year, played a major role in setting up the TCC and helped ensure housing tenants were able to express their views and have a say in how the business was run.

An experienced care professional has been appointed manager at leading Shropshire care home, Stretton Hall, in All Stretton. Jonathan Breese joined Morris Care’s Stretton Hall home after six years as deputy nurse manager at Morris Care’s Isle Court home in Bicton, Shrewsbury.

Tributes have been paid to Harold Bodmer, after the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) president died suddenly. Bodmer collapsed during a meeting of the health and social care executive of Norfolk council, where he was the executive director for adult social care, and despite help being provided at the scene he could not be revived.
