Inspired Villages Group (Inspired Villages), the Legal & General-backed later living business, has appointed Sharon Badelek as its Chief Financial Officer.

A former Army officer and healthcare executive has been appointed to lead Broughton House Veteran Care Village into its new era as it undergoes a £13m transformation. Karen Miller has been appointed chief executive of the Salford care home for ex-servicemen and women. She is the first female CEO in the home’s history. Sandhurst-trained Karen was an officer in the Intelligence Corps from 1990 to 1999, and before that she served in the Territorial Army with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers.

The former chair of national housing association Riverside has died at the age of 85. Professor John Tarn, who was on the association’s board for nearly two decades, passed away after a long-term illness, the association said.

Keighley social housing group Incommunities has appointed a new group chief executive. Rachael Dennis will take-up the role in February. She succeeds Geraldine Howley, who is retiring after leading Incommunities since its formation in 2003.

London-based property developer Dominvs Group has appointed Ian Fergusson as its new Planning Director. Joining from Barton Willmore, Fergusson joins the company with immediate effect.

Staff at Barchester Healthcare’s Orchard House care home in Newport have welcomed a new General Manager to head up the team. Kim Fleming will oversee the running of the 60 bed home and will be responsible for the team of nurses, healthcare assistants and support staff. Kim has been Deputy Manager at Orchard House since 2018.

Ara Venn, the investment manager selected to run the Affordable Homes Guarantee Scheme (AHGS), has appointed former housing minister Mark Prisk and experienced social housing finance professional Sarah Wall as non-executive directors.
