Ben Beadle is to be the chief executive of the new National Residential Landlords Association (NRLA) formed from the merger of the National Landlords Association and the Residential Landlords Association. Mr Beadle is currently director of operations at Touchstone, part of the Places for People housing group. Previously he was managing director of TDS Northern Ireland and director of customer service with the TDS, the Tenancy Deposit Scheme. He will join NRLA in November.

The Care Software Providers Association (CASPA) has announced the appointment of Taffy Gatawa to the Board of Directors. Gatawa, chief information and compliance officer at everyLIFE Technologies, expands the Board to six directors and brings expertise in data protection, information governance and security within the social care and software sector. CASPA was launched in March to represent the views and interests of social care software providers whilst promoting advances in the flow of digital information across social care, to allow more openness and transparency. Founded by Person Centred Software, everyLIFE Technologies and Nourish Care, the association is independent and not-for-profit.

Manningham Housing Association (MHA) has announced the appointment of two senior managers and two apprentices. After five years at the National Lottery Community Fund and with previous experience in housing and business development, Nas Hussain takes up post as Community Partnerships and Investment Manager. Matthew Hayes joins as IT Manager and is tasked with co-ordinating the association’s revamped digital technology infrastructure. MHA has also recruited two new apprentices. Aanish Rehman will be part of the finance team, working four days per week at the association’s Bradford head office as well as spending a day at college completing an Association of Accounting Technicians professional qualification. Avtar Dhesi will work with the MHA health & safety and compliance unit for four days each week, and study for a Business Administration NVQ Level 2 through City Training Services on day five.

The chief executive of a troubled health trust has announced her resignation, saying “life is just too short”. Siobhan McArdle, of South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said the personal cost of being a CEO in the NHS is “just too high”. She said she considered demands for further efficiency savings at the trust “too great a challenge”. In July, its intensive care was given the worst possible rating by watchdogs.
