Retirement home builder McCarthy and Stone has taken on board two new chief operating officers. Nigel Turner will join as chief operating officer in charge of building operations. Turner, a former executive director at Kier Group looked after the property and development services division and was responsible for a team of more than 7,000 people. Mike Lloyd will join the firm as chief operating officer who will look after the customer-facing services. Lloyd served as the chief commercial officer and chief executive of breakdown group AA’s regulated business.

Sara Livadeas has been appointed chief executive at registered charity and not for profit organisation, The Fremantle Trust. She will take her up position at the service, which provides care and support services for older people and adults with a learning disability, on January 23, 2019.

The founding chief executive of the Belfast Trust William McKee has died at the age of 66.

Martin Collet has been appointed as the new chief executive of English Rural Housing Association.

Lendlease’s head of residential is leaving the firm to join the board of leading housing association Clarion Group. Richard Cook will join the group executive team in February to lead ambitious development plans. He joined Lendlease in 2010 as head of delivery of the design and build contracts on the Olympic Village for London 2012. Later as head of residential, he was responsible for delivering 1,000 new homes each year of mixed tenure from open market to affordable.

Sovereign has replaced its interim finance chief after she left only one month into the job. Rita Akushie, who was appointed as interim chief financial officer in October, left the organisation last month to take up a permanent position at Cancer Research UK in the new year. She was occupying the role at Sovereign after Mark Hattersley left, joining Clarion, the UK’s largest housing association, as its finance chief. That position was itself vacated by Mark Washer in April, when he became the chief executive of Sovereign.
