West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA) has appointed Brian Gannon as chief executive.

L&Q has promoted Vicky Savage, the housing association’s southern region head, to be its new managing director for London.

Dame Moira Gibb, the chair of the Board of Skills for Care, will oversee the first Digital Care Conference later this year. The event, organised by Tech for Care, an online platform dedicated to finding and reviewing technologies used in care, will take place at Millenium Point in Birmingham on December 12.

Somerset Care has appointed Donna Howitt as the new Manager of Wyndham House.

Mark Easton, a qualified solicitor and experienced infrastructure investment professional, has been appointed as the new chair of Kingdom Initiatives, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kingdom Housing Association.

Somerset County Council’s director of adult services has resigned from his post. Stephen Chandler, who had been in place since January 2016, was instrumental in inviting BBC Panorama crews in to film the authority’s social care team and the challenges it faced. Council leader David Fothergill said his resignation was in no way linked to the documentary.

Global consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal has appointed a new Managing Director to its European healthcare and life sciences wing. Ray Berglund will now help the firm expand its practice, as clients look to navigate an increasingly complex and volatile market.

Phil Smith has been appointed as the new managing director of New Century Care.
