A new cabinet member for health at the county council has been appointed, following the previous holder’s resignation for personal reasons. Amanda Jupp, who represents Billingshurst at County Hall and worked for a national charity which advises and supports the elderly for 20 years, took over the adults and health portfolio on Wednesday (August 2). Until the appointment she was a senior advisor on adult social care. She replaces Peter Catchpole.

Jim Strang has described becoming the next vice president of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) as the “greatest achievement of his career to date” after winning an election of the organisation’s members. The Parkhead Housing Association chief executive received 61.5% of the 1,750 votes cast during the election, which closed on Monday 31 July, compared to fellow candidate Paul Butterworth’s 38.5%. Mr Strang will replace Alison Inman when she steps up to the role of president in September.

A care funding legal expert has been recruited by Thursfields to work with its Solihull team which has moved to larger offices and doubled in size. Tracy Ashby joins Thursfields from mfg Solicitors in Kidderminster.

Shettleston Housing Association has appointed current Rural Stirling Housing Association director Tony Teasdale as its new chief executive.

Sovereign has appointed a former council chief executive as its new chair. Gordon Holdcroft replaces Katherine Innes Ker as the chair of the 56,000-home landlord, which operates across the South of England.

The new Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) chief executive is Sally Thomas.

Keighley social housing landlord Incommunities has appointed a new assistant chief executive for asset management. Angela Perry joins the group next month from north-west based Torus, where she has been managing director of operations since 2015.

The chief executive of Hampshire-based affordable housing provider Radian is to stand down. Lindsay Todd will be leaving the group, which has its HQ in Eastleigh, at the end of August.
