New manager at Healthcare Homes Group aims to make home a “centre for nursing care excellence”. Rogers will be responsible for overseeing a team of carers at the 34-bed facility. The care group said his extensive experience and passion for elderly care have made him an “ideal fit” for the role. Rogers has dedicated his career to the care sector since the age of 16. With a wealth of experience in various care settings, he has found his true calling in caring for the elderly. Over the past 15 years, Rodgers has honed his management skills, primarily as a ‘troubleshooting’ manager, effectively leading and improving care homes to achieve higher standards of care. Rogers said: “I’m looking forward to my time at Saxlingham Hall. The home, the staff team and the residents are amazing. I think the home has great potential to be a center of excellence for nursing care.” The Healthcare Homes Group has said it is confident that under Rodger’s leadership, Saxlingham Hall will continue to flourish and provide outstanding care for all its residents.

Dementia specialist home care service Belong at Home has promoted Emma Gorton to lead its operations as it widens its support to more older people in their homes across Didsbury, Altrincham and south Manchester. Helping people to live as independently as possible, a new brief sees Gorton promoted to head up the team of community support workers based at the Palatine Road care village, Belong Morris Feinmann. The team support tenants of the village’s independent living apartments, as well as older people living in the wider community with tasks including one-to-one personal care, housekeeping, running errands and companionship.

One of the UK’s largest housing associations has hired, Liam Coleman, the former boss of Co-operative Bank, as its new chair, alongside new committee appointments. Mr Coleman, who has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, will take over from the current chair Aubrey Adams, who will retire in the autumn after nine years in the role. The incoming chair is currently a non-executive director and chair of the Audit Committee at the Financial Conduct Authority, the chair of Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and a non-executive director and chair of the Customer Services Committee at Vivid Housing. L&Q has also appointed Anne Turner as an independent member of its Audit and Risk Committee.

Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing (MTVH) has appointed its new chief executive from a major city council.

Two Rivers Housing has announced Ted Pearce will become its new Chair in October. Ted was appointed as Chair designate in April, following a rigorous recruitment process and he will replace Yvonne Leishman who is stepping down at the end of her term
