A housing association is under fire for seeking to recruit a new chief executive at a salary higher than the Prime Minister. RCT Homes – which took over the housing stock formerly owned by Rhondda Cynon Taf council – is advertising for a new CEO at £150,000. David Cameron ’s salary as Prime Minister is £142,500, while First Minister Carwyn Jones earns £135,260. Last December former chief executive Andrew Lycett left RCT Homes for reasons that were unexplained on the grounds of “confidentiality”. The deputy chief executive and finance director also left. Recruitment consultants Campbell Tickell is looking to secure a new chief executive for the association, which owns around 10,000 houses.
